Pro Staff Question - Is There A Pro Circuit For Catfisherman And If So How Do I Join
Charles "The Bass Doctor" Stuart's Answer
Hi Tabby!
As far as I am aware there are no professional cat fish fisherman (geeze thats a tough thing to say!) or a fishing curcuit for them.
Maybe it's time to start one?

Thanks for your question!
I sure can't claim professional status as a Catfisherman (Though I've sure taken my share of Channel Cats, Flatheads and Blues ~ even during Bass & Walleye tournaments).
But, just the same as there are professional Bass Anglers, the same is true for a lot of other fish species: Walleye, Pike, Muskie, Crappie, Trout, Carp and probably, of course, 'Old Whiskers', the Catfish.
One comes to mind and he is a member of the Bass On Hook Pro Staff!
His name is Ted Ellenbecker and he has two excellent articles written for this website called “Slippin Timber” and “Small Rivers Big Cats”.
Other than Ted, I'm afraid that your best source for reliable information that would cover any of the progressive stages of catfishing would probably be found through the website at: Brotherhood of Catfisherman
In one or more of their excellent forums, they'll provide all you'll need to know about catfishing and probably a lot more!
Give it a try!
If you live along one of America's major river systems (The Ohio, Missouri and Mississippi Rivers or one of their tributaries), you might also check with some of the bait-stores and river-guides in your immediate area for some more personal, first-hand advice.
Good Fishin'!
